Research

Ecology ⦁ Psychology ⦁ Health

My research has focused on natural sciences and public health, and the intersections between these, evolutionary psychology, climate resilience, speciesism, politics, philosophy and applied ecopsychology. In addition to studying public health and evolutionary health from an ecopsychology lens, I also research ecology topics in

environmental and climate restoration.

Rewild

My primary research currently focuses on Rewild Ecopsychology project services and courses. These compile interdisciplinary research in evolutionary psychology, health and natural sciences to improve health and teach ecotherapy and nature listening skills to individuals and organizations.

Liko Na Pilina

For several years, I had the privilege to work with Liko Na Pilina Hybrid Ecosystems project, a partnership between the University of Hawaii at Hilo and the US Forest Service. This groundbreaking project uses functional trait databases and permaculture-like complementary pairings to restore diverse forests more rapidly and effectively. The project also included a partnership for innovative software development for global applications. It is my hope to see their REST software and these trait systems be applied to more national and international projects.

Special Topics

In addition to interdisciplinary ecopsychology programs for Rewild, I enjoy research in sound health, sound weapons and, sound pollution, political philosophy in the environmental context, and the sensory capacity of human beings and other complex animals.
